HEALTH FOUNDATION OF SOUTH FLORIDA NAMES NEW POLICY AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS DIRECTOR

MIAMI, FL, Dec. 11, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Health Foundation of South Florida, the biggest philanthropy devoted to bettering health in Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties, has named Natalie Ok. Castellanos, JD as Director, Policy and Public Affairs.  In this new place, she is going to work intently with Health Foundation’s Vice President of Operations and Strategy Dr. Janisse Schoepp in numerous capacities together with advancing an advocacy agenda in addition to informing and fascinating with neighborhood stakeholders on key coverage points impacting the health of weak, low- to moderate-income South Floridians.

According to Health Foundation of South Florida President & CEO Steven Marcus, E.D., “We believe that to improve community health over the long-term requires a supportive policy environment focused on addressing the social determinants of health.”  He added, “Natalie’s exceptional policy experience aligns with that focus and our belief that policy needs to be part of the solution. Elevating the depth and scope of our policy efforts will advance the impact of our work.”

Prior to becoming a member of Health Foundation of South Florida, Natalie was with Florida International University’s Green Family Foundation Neighborhood Health Education Learning Program (“NeighborhoodHELP”) the place she had a dual-appointment as an assistant professor on the medical faculty and as a scientific teacher and supervising legal professional on the regulation faculty. Natalie’s authorized work targeted on bettering health care entry for low- to moderate-income Floridians. She has an impressive background addressing and instructing social determinants of health and on implementing the medical-legal partnership mannequin the place authorized companies are used as a software to enhance health outcomes. Natalie grew up in South Florida, and is a graduate of the University of Florida and Florida International University College of Law.
